It is a very finely ground mate with leaves making up about 75% and thick twigs 25%. It is characterised by an intense, slightly grassy flavour. The large leaves, rich in theobromine and antioxidants, are ground in special mills to produce a fine dried product with a characteristic bright green colour. Properly prepared, it can be poured even 20-30 times, maintaining an even taste.
The manufacturer states that Yacuy yerba mate is harvested from wild plants. The green brew has an exceptionally mild taste and quite strong stimulating properties. Its intense green colour is due to the fact that it is packed into bags immediately after harvesting and the leaves are quickly dried, without a resting phase. Erva can be infused up to a dozen times without experiencing a reduction in the intensity of the flavour.
